There, there is happiness, There streams of purest bliss ; There, there are rest and peace— 2-Yes, yes, we know that place, We know it well Eye hath not seen His face, There are the angels bright, 3-Oh! we are weary here, A little band, Yet soon in glory there We hope to stand; Then let us haste away, Speed o'er this world's dark way, 4-Come! hasten that sweet day, Come! Lord, make no delay, Thy face we wish to see To dwell and reign with Thee, And, Thine for ever be— Thine, Thine alone. 127 1 Thess. i. 8. 1-Sound, sound the truth abroad, Through the wide world: Tell what our Lord hath done, And from his lofty throne 2-Far over sea and land, 'Tis our own Lord's command, Bear it to ev'ry shore, Regions unknown explore, Enter at every door :- 3-Speed on the wings of love; They who His message bear, He will their friend appear, P.M 4-When on the mighty deep, When in a foreign land, 5-Ye, who forsaking all Soon will the work be done, 1-Sweet is the solace of Thy love, While through the hidden way of faith As a dear child to be. P.M. 2-Though from the shadow of Thy peace My feet would often stray, Thy mercy follows every step. And will not turn away; Yea, Thou wilt comfort me at last, 3-Oft in a dark and lonely place, 4-Oh! there is nothing in the world E'en the dark times I dread the most And when the glorious morning dawns 5-No other comforter I need, If Thou, Lord, be mine; Thy rod will bring my spirit low, Thy fire my heart refine, And cause me pain that none can heal |
