6. LESSONS FROM THE DOCTRINES. From these doctrines we learn,

(1.) That we should rise with Christ, to newness of life. (2.) That we should diligently improve present opportunities of giving and receiving instruction.

(3.) That we should receive the gospel, as Christ's mes

sage to us.

(4.) That we should set our affections and desires on the things of heaven.

(5.) That we should always desire the spiritual welfare of our friends, especially when we are about to leave them

(6.) That we should seek to partake of that glory, to which our fore-runner is now raised.

(7.) That as Christ's servants, we ought not to be influenced by the fear or the favour of men.

(8.) That we should be active and persevering in the performance of our duties.

(9.) That we should do good to all, as we have an cpportunity.
