ADVERTISEMENT. TH HOUGH the following sheets are written by a Diffenter, I trust no one will think this circumftance a fufficient reafon, for refufing them a candid perufal. They contain at the fame time the fentiments of a Proteftant, and a Chriftian; free from all bigotted attachment to any party, or fiery zeal to any denomination of Chriftians. I diffent from the Established Church, because I think in many instances, ber doctrine, difcipline, and Spirit are unfavourable to the cause of virtue, and to the honour and fuccefs of the Chriftian religion: and that the principles and mode of worship amongst the Diffenters I have defcribed, are much more rational, and more agreeable to the doctrine of the New Teftament. I am a Non-conformist, I hope, not from education or prejudice, but from conviction: nor am I afhamed of any opprobrious name, with which I may be ftigmatized for my religious fentiments, so long as it appears to me that I have reafon, and the New Teftament, to Jupport what I efpouse and profefs. At the Jame time I acknowledge myself open to conviction; and if it can be proved to me that I am in an error, I will immediately embrace any form of worship, which shall appear more confonant to the religion of JESUS CHRIST. Till this fhall be the cafe, I must be of opinion, that the cause I have efpoufed, merits the countenance and fupport of the friends of pure and undefiled religion.
