MATTHEW XX. 12.
Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord.
SERMON II.
[For the Second Sunday in Advent.]
ROMANS XV. 4.
Whatsoever things were written aforetime, were
written for our learning, that we, through patience
and comfort of the scriptures, might have hope.
SERMON III.
[For the Third Sunday in Advent.]
MATTHEW Xi. 10.
For this is he of whom it is written, Behold, I send
my messenger before thy face, to prepare thy way
before thee.

SERMON IV.
[For the Fourth Sunday in Advent.]
PHILIPPIANS iv. 4-7.
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, rejoice.
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The
Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in
every thing by prayer and supplication with thanks-
giving let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all under-
standing, shall keep your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus.
SERMON V.
[For Christmas Day.]
HEBREWS i. 1, 2.
God, who, at sundry times, and in divers manners,
spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son.
SERMON VI.
[For the Sunday after Christmas Day.]
MATTHEW i. 21.
And thou shalt call his name Jesus, for he shall save
his people from their sins.
SERMON VII.
[For the First Sunday after Epiphany.]
ROMANS xii. 1.
I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of
God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service.

SERMON VIII.
[For the Second Sunday after the Epiphany.]
ROMANS xii. 9.
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which
is evil; cleave to that which is good.
SERMON IX.
[For the Third Sunday after the Epiphany.]
ROMANS xii. 16-21.
Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no
man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the
sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth
in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly be-
loved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place
unto wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is
mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore,
if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give
him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of
fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but
overcome evil with good.
SERMON X.
[For the Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany.]
MATTHEW viii. 31.
So the Devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us
out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
SERMON XI.
[For the Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany.]
MATTHEW Xiii. 24.
The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which
sowed good seed in his field.
