in Lowliness of Mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

2 Honour all Men. If ye falute your Brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the Publicans so?

a Ye Younger, submit yourselves unto the Elder ; yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with Humility.

Rebuke not an Elder, but intreat him as a Father, and the younger Men as Brethren ; the elder Women as Mothers, the younger as Sisters.

- Thou thalt rise up before the hoary Head, and honour the Face of the old Man.

d Let not the Child behave himself proudly against the Ancient, nor the Base against the Honourable.

· Honour Widows that are Widows indeed. * He that despiseth his Neighbour, sinneth.

8 Let us not accept any Man's Person, neither let us give flattering Titles unto Man; having Mens Perfonsin Admiration because of Advantage.

h Let no Man glory in Men, nor be puffed up for one against another.

Be ye at Peace among yourselves; and follow after the Things which make for Peace; fhewing all Meekness unto all Men.

Study to be quiet, and to do your own Business; and if it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all Men.

m Seek the Peace of the City, and the Welfare of the People whereunto ye belong; for in the Peace thereof ye

shall have Peace. n One is your Master, even Christ, and all ye are Brethren; therefore have Peace one with another.

• Be ye all of one Mind; endeavouring to keep the Unity of the Spirit in the Bond of Peace. For there is one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of all; and ye are one Body in Christ, and every one Members one of another. There is neither Jew nor Greek ; there is neither Bond nor Free; there is neither Male nor Female ; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

P If there be therefore any Consolation in Christ, if any Comfort of Love, if any Fellowship of the Spirit, if any Bowels and Mercies, be ye like-minded, having the same Love, being of one Accord, of one Mind, of one Heart, and of

9 I beseech you, Brethren, by the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same Thing, and that there be no Divisions among you ; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the fame Mind, and in the same Judgment.

: The God of Patience and Consolation grant you to be like minded one towards another, according to Christ Jesus ; that ye may with one Mind and one Mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

s Let us walk by the same Rule, let us mind the fame Thing.

Let us stand fast in one Spirit, with one Mind, striving together for the Faith of the Gof. pel.

Let an Bitterness, and Wrath, and Anger, and Clamour, and Evil-speaking, be put away from you, with all Malice.

w Wrath is cruel, and Anger is outrageous ; but who is able to stand before Envy?

* Let us not be desirous of Vain-glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

y Foolith and unlearned Questions avoid, knowing that they do gender Strifes. And the Servants of the Lord must not strive, but be gentle unto all Men.

z Sirive not with a Man without Cause; if he have done thee no Harm.

• Go not forth haftily to strive, left thou know not what to do in the End thereof, when thy Neighbour have put thee to Shame.

b Debate thy Čause with thy Neighbour himself, and discover not a Secret to another; left he that heareth it put thee to Shame, and thine Infamy turn not away.

• The Beginning of Strife is as when one letteth out Water; therefore leave off Contention before it be meddled with.

• As Coals are to hurning Coals, and Wood to Fire, fo is a contentious Man to kindle Strife.

• Thou shalt not go up and down as a Talebearer among thy People.

f Where no Wood is there the Fire goeth out, so where there is no Tale-bearer, the Strife ceaseth. For a Tale-bearer revealeth Secrets, and a Whisperer separateth Friends; but he that is of a faithful Spirit concealeth the Matter.

Only by Pride cometh Contention; but with the well-advised is Wisdom. :)

* Cast out the Scorner, and Contention shall go out; yea, Strife and Reproach fall cease. For scornful Men bring a City into a Snare; but wise Men turn away Wrath.

From whence come Wars and Fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of your Lufts that war in your Members ?

* The Lot causeth Contention to cease, and parteth between the Mighty.

* Whereas there is among you Envying, and Strife, and Divisions ; Are ye not carnal, and walk as Men? For while one saith, I am of Paul, and another, I am of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ : Are ye not carnal? Is Christ divided? Was Pau) crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the Name of Paul? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but Ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every Man?

• If ye have bitter Envying and Strife in your Hearts, glory not : For this Wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish; but the Wisdom that is from above is peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated.

p There must be Heresies and Divisions among you; that they which are approved may be made manifeft. But wo unto them through whom these Offences come.

9 He that will love Life, and see good Days, let him feek Peace, and ensue it.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for Brethren to dwell together in Unity!

s Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

? Every Kingdom divided against itself is brought to Desolation: And every City or House divided against itself shall not stand.
