28 אֵלֶה. 30 31 1:11: שביעי פ JT T JT T 6 וְאֶת־אוּזָל וְאֶת־דִּקְלֶה : 28 וְאֶת-עוֹבָל וְאֶת־אֲבִימָאֵל וְאֶת־שְׁבָא: 29 וְאֶת־אוֹפַר וְאֶת־חֲוִילָה וְאֶת־יוֹבָב כָּל־ בְּנֵי יָקְטָן: 30 וַיְהִי מוֹשָׁבָם מִמָּשָׁא בְּאֲכָה סְפָרָה הַר הַקְדֶם: 31 אֵלֶה בְנֵי־שֵׁם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לִלְשְׂנֹתָם בְּאַרְצְתָם לְנִייִהֶם : 32 אַלֶה מִשְׁפָּחָת בְּנֵי־נָחַ לְתוֹלְדֹתָם בְּגְוֹיִהֶם וּמֵאֵלֶה נִפְרְדְוּ הַגּוֹיִם בָּאָרֶץ אַחַר הַמַּבּוּל : יא וַיְהִי כָל־הָאָרֶץ שָׂפָה אֶחָת וּדְבָרִים אֲחָדִים: 2 וַיְהִי בְּנָסְעָם מִקְרֶס וַיִּמְצְאוּ בִקְעָה בְּאֶרֶץ שִׁנְעָר וַיִּשְׁבוּ שָׁם : 3 וַיֹּאמְרוּ אִישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵהוּ הָבָה נִלְבְּנָה לְבֵנִים וְנִשְׂרְפָה לִשְׁרֵפָה וַתְּהִי לָהֶם הַלְבֵנָה לְאָבֶן וְהַחֵמָר הָיָה לָהֶם לַחְמֵר: 4 וַיֹּאמְרוּ הָבָה נִבְנֶה־לָּנוּ עִיר וּמִגְדָּל וְרֹאשׁוֹ בַּשָּׁמַיִם וְנַעֲשֶׂה־לָּנוּ שֵׁם פֶּן־נָפוּץ עַל־פְּנֵי כָל־הָאָרֶץ : 5 וַיִּרֶד יְהוָה לִרְאֹת אֶת־הָעִיר וְאֶת־הַמִּגְדָּל אֲשֶׁר בָּנוּ בְּנֵי הָאָדָם: 6 וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה הֵן עַם אֶחָד וְשָׂפָה אַחַת לְכְלָּם וזה הַחִלָּם לַעֲשׂוֹת וְעַתָּה לֹא־יִבָּצר מֵהֶם כָּל אֲשֶׁר יָזְמוּ לַעֲשׂוֹת: 7 הָבָה נִרְדָה וְנָבְלָה שָׁם שְׂפָתָם לֹא יִשְׁמְעוּ אִישׁ שְׂפַת רֵעֶהוּ: 8 וַיָּפֶץ יְהוָה אֹתָם מִשָּׁם עַל־פְּנֵי כָל־הָאָרֶץ וַיַּחְדְּלוּ לִבְנֹת הָעִיר: 8 עַל־כֵּן קָרָא שְׁמָהּ בָּבֶל כִּי־־שָׁם בָּלַל יְהוָה שְׂפַת כָּל־הָאָרֶץ וּמִשָּׁם הֵפִיצָם יְהוָה עַל־פְּנֵי כָּל־הָאָרֶץ : 10 אֵלֶה תּוֹלְדֹוֹת שֵׁם שֵׁם בֶּן־מְאַת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד אֶת־ אַרְפַּכְשָׁדְשְׁנָתַיִם אַחַר הַמַּבּוּל:11 וַיְהִי שֵׁם אַחֲרֵי הוֹלִידו אֶת־אַרְפַּכְשַׁד חֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד בָּנִים וּבָנָוֹת : 12 וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁד חַי חָמֵשׁ וּשְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד אֶת־שָׁלַח: 13 וַיְהִי אַרְפַּכְשַׁד אַחֲרֵי הוֹלִידוֹ אֶת־שְׁלַח שָׁלְשׁ שָׁנִים וְאַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד בָּנִים וּבָנוֹת : 14 וְשֶׁלַח חַי שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד אֶת־עֲבֵר: 15 וַיְהִי־שָׁלַח אַחֲרִי הָוֹלִידִוֹ אֶת־עֶבֶר שָׁלְשׁ שָׁנִים וְאַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד בָּנִים וּבָבָות : 7: T< 8 פ ס ס 14 : 15 16 וַיְהִי־ CHAP. For which reason, I shall take notice of what Nachmanides says, The bow was from the creation, according to natural causes, which is, by means of the reflection of the rays of the sun against the moistness of the atmosphere ;" so that the explanation of this passage is, The bow which I have given from the time of the creation, shall from henceforward be a token of the covenant between me and you. This is to be understood of his grandson Canaan, as must of the saimentators understand it; as it cannot be said of Ham, for Japheth was younger than him: moreover, if Ham bad sinaed, why curse Canaan, and not Ham? but the truth is, that by younger sun, is meant the youngest son of Ham, which was Canaan. | Heb.
