TRUTH is omnipotent, hence cannot be chained.

Truth is self-sustaining and limitless.

Truth is self-protecting!

Truth is self-existent !

Truth is sacred and eternal!

Truth depends on no book, person, doctrine or creed. "Truth is unchangeable fact."

Truth is free as air, sunshine, daylight, and belongs to all. Truth was before mortal man appeared and before Jesus was known.

Our own dear Heavenly Father, Mother, God-compounding Man, Infinite Good, eternal Source and essence of all goodness, Helper of the helpless; You, our only Helper always are. We need to get so low in genuine Christian humility and meekness, and to grow so strong in trustfulness and trustworthiness, that we may rise high in Divine Love and power to heal the sick and the sinful; growing wise in Your wisdom, strong in Your strength, and perfect in Your perfection; bold and courageous in declaring omnipotent Truth, in such a way, that the winsomeness of the truth of Truth and the love of Love, may appear so clear and shine so brightly to others, as to attract them to the sweet conscious embrace of infinite Love in heaven here and now...

We need to be more in touch with the spiritual thought of the progressive now, and the sublime future.

With these thoughts present and abiding with us, we choose to embrace the God-given privilege and opportunity of sacred secluded meditation, with God our TEACHER, and the BIBLE Our TEXT-BOOK, for a short season.

Universal divine Love is infinite, and LovE is ALL-in-ALL. GOD is GOOD, and GooD is GOD.

CHAPTER 3

THE BIBLE.

The first and second chapters of Genesis tell the story of the creation, and of what God made. They are said to have been written by Moses, who does not appear to have been born till over 2,300 years after the date at which the creation is said to have occurred. To create and to make are very different acts; the former may have been millions of years ago, and the latter only about 6,000 years. Whatever uncertainty there may be as to the age of the earth and its inhabitants, or as to who wrote the history referred to, we must admit the BIBLE is the best book we know of, and that in it are very many of the most beautiful pointers, germs, and gems of spiritual thought, Truth, and Love, whose attractions are IM

MORTAL.

The following Scripture references will furnish food for thought and companionship, and will show where some of the most interesting and instructive historic events recorded in the Bible are to be found, where the context in detail can be found and read; and will also present in condensed form some of the highest spiritual thoughts, expressions, and experiences of the CHRIST CHARACTER. These thoughts may be reached and enjoyed practically to-day, by those who choose to comply with the essential conditions of spiritual growth, in the understanding and demonstration of Truth and Love, so as to discern and appropriate them; because GOD is the eternal and unchangeable All-in-All GOOD. Hence it is possible now, to preach the gospel and heal the sick and sinner, according to the Divine Principle of the New Testament, as demonstrated by our Blessed Lord and Master, JESUS the CHRIST.

Perfect HEALTH, HAPPINESS, and HARMONY can be attained and enjoyed here and now, they belong to all by virtue of the eternal Law of absolute RIGHT. This state of CONSCIOUSNESS, all should enjoy in heaven here and now. It is reached in proportion as we know the Truth, which maketh free from all discord.

The Bible has in it encouragement, hope, and help for the meanest specimen of a mortal, and for all the different states, stages, and conditions of mortals, up to the highest concept of a perfect man.

The following Bible quotations are specially suited for those who wish to grow in conformity to the DIVINE CHARACTER, and live in harmony with GoD our HEAVENLY FATHER and MOTHER.

JESUS gave to humanity SUPREMELY, although he had not where to lay his head. Yet his gifts are for all the world, and are PRICELESS AND FREE, even to the poorest. JESUS by his life, character, words, and works, as the Way-Shower, demonstrated the CHRIST or GOD CHARACTER; and thus proved it possible for us to manifest the GOD Principle and Character here and now.

Selecting the following Scripture texts and references, with GOD our TEACHER and the BIBLE Our TEXT-BOOK, reading from Genesis to Revelation, was a three-months' most inspiring and exalting study, and seemed worth more than three years' previous preliminary study and work with sundry books. Those who ascend high enough in understanding the Truth which maketh free from all discord, instead of being the victims of old age, decrepitude, and inactivity; can demonstrate PERFECT HEALTH, HARMONY, beauty, and spiritual activity without limitation.

It is not absolutely necessary that the mortal body should pass through what mortals call death, and be put in a coffin and buried, but it is possible to appear on this planet for hundreds of years, or to disappear like ice in a tumbler of water without dying, or evaporate- vanish.

The Bible is said to be composed of sixty-six different pamphlets called books, written by almost as many different writers, who resided in six or seven different countries, and spread over a period of about 1,600 years. These pamphlets were selected from a large number of other pamphlets, by a committee of royal appointment; were translated under in

structions, compiled and bound together in one book called the Bible. It is largely historic and prophetic. It tells of cruel wars and errors which appeared in the mortal and material history recorded. Not only does it relate the worthy acts and deeds of prominent figures and personalities in its historic records, but also honestly criticises and tells of their failings, misdeeds, and fallibility, reminding us that mortals are very frail. The writers of these pamphlets had flashes of the exalting spiritual thoughts of Truth and Love, which carry with them a wider range of meaning and are more farreaching ofttimes, than perhaps the writer understood. The following extracts from the Bible are mostly of this highest class, pointing and directing the honest and diligent students to DEPEND ALONE UPON GOD AND TO THINK WITH HIM, and will help them to understand and enjoy in a practical degree the theory, practice, and experience of DIVINE SCIENCE AND PERFECTION. The word Trinity is not in the Bible, but the doctrine of the Trinity and Unity is taught there. We use the term Science because it expresses the idea of absolute exactness. The word Science is only found twice in the Bible, but the SCIENCE or Knowledge of GOD is taught by many infallible proofs, as will be seen by the extracts here given; first in consecutive form, and then grouped under different instructive headings, which will with God's help explain, and prepare the diligent student for a fuller reception and application of "the truth which maketh free"; and which later will be dwelt upon more fully. The consecutive reading of said extracts will be found very inspiring, and then the study of these same extracts in grouped form will be highly instructive as an instrument of interpretation.

DIVINE SCIENCE is Christian knowledge, the knowledge of Christ which is God, or of God which is Christ, the knowledge of what God knows, hence it is eternal and absolute SCIENCE and PERFECTION.

In reality, in Science and Perfection, or the "SCIENCE OF BEING," there are no mortal bodies or mortal persons; these, (like all things mortal and material which seem to appear in

the phenomenal and material universe of matter) are imperfect reflections, distorted images, false mental concepts, optical illusions, erroneous mental precipitates, poor counterfeits, or mere fleeting shadows;—of some PERFECT INCORPOREAL IDENTITY OR INDIVIDUAL IDEA OF GOD, which can only be spiritually discerned, and which cannot be seen with the mortal eye. God's perfect spiritual idea peoples the eternal spiritual universe of SPIRIT, which is the only enduring UNIVERSE there really and truly is.

The BIBLE is derived and is neither ORIGINAL, FINAL, INFALLIBLE nor wholly inspired Scripture. In the past people have depended too much upon books and persons, and too little upon GOD, our divine PRINCIPLE; too much upon church organizations, doctrines, and creeds of men, and too little upon TRUTH; too much upon charity, and too little upon INFINITE AND DIVINE LOVE.

The multiplication of religious organizations and material churches, IS NOT the need of to-day, but the CHRISTIAN UNITY OF TRUTH AND LOVE, Combining, compounding or confederating all these religious organizations, in the understanding and demonstration of Truth and Love Divine, is the NEED of THIS HOUR. There is really but one CHURCH, and that is the purely spiritual CHURCH of CHRIST.

GOD IS DIVINE AND MAN IS HUMAN, it is equally true that GOD IS HUMAN and MAN IS DIVINE. GOD is incorporeal and He is everywhere present, but the humanity of GOD is in His DIVINE CHARACTER. GOD loves His children. The Divine and human duality of JESUS the CHRIST is also to some degree in the CONSCIOUSNESS of every one.

"Two of the distinguishing features of Christianity are independence of thought, and love of the beautiful."

Without complete DEPENDENCE UPON GOD we cannot gain true INDEPENDENCE.
