Behold therefore (thou that, by the new baptismal Covenant, art admitted to be a free Citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven) the Goodness and Severity of God! on them which fell, feverity; but towards thee, goodnefs, if thou continue in his goodness: other wife, thou fhall alfo fhalt be cut off. Believe that the ways of God are equal, as thou art weli affur'd the ways of man are unequal. Be not fo curioufly inquifitive, as to expect that the whole Economy of God's Difpensations should appear confiftent with the various Humours, and unstable Opinions of the Generality of Men: Nor be peevish, when, after all thy most diligent Searches, thou findeft that the Spring of the Universe is inveftigable.
