But, Secondly, The Names of those Prophets whose Writings make fo considerable a Part of our Bible, in the Order as they are there plac'd, are these, Mofes, Samuel, David, Isaiah, ilJeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hofea, Joel Amos, Obadiah, 70nah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zepbaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi. ndoos

These, we Thall be contented with just naming at present : Only, we must observe one thing, in relation to Prophesy in General : That the Prophetic Spirit ceas'd among the Jews, from the Time of Malachi, the last of them that had it, till the Proclamation of the New Covenant, by the second Elijah, Yohn the Baptist, whofe Coming that Prophet literally, foretels;

Among the several Ways of asking Counsel of God, among the Israelites, that of having Recourse to his Prophets being onej it will not be amiss, in this Placegtqgive a short Account of them all. „\.

This Way, God himself allows of, in the Law; to prevent them from running after the impure Damons of the neighbouring Heathens, upon all Occasions.
