Luke 22. 22.

unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it 20 I? And he answered and said unto them, It is one of 21 the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish. The g Matt. 26. 24. Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

37 ἀπ ̓ ἐμοῦ τοῦτο· ἀλλ ̓ οὐ τί ἐγὼ θέλω, ἀλλὰ τί σύ. καὶ 4ο 45 ἔρχεται καὶ εὑρίσκει αὐτοὺς καθεύδοντας, καὶ λέγει τῷ Πέτρῳ, Σίμων, καθεύδεις; οὐκ ἴσχυσας μίαν ὥραν γρη38 γορῆσαι ; γρηγορεῖτε καὶ προσεύχεσθε, ἵνα μὴ εἰσέλθητε 4ι εἰς πειρασμόν. τὸ μὲν πνεῦμα πρόθυμον, ἡ δὲ σὰρξ ἀσθε39 νής. Καὶ ἔρχεται τὸ τρίτον, καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς, Καθεύδετε 45 τὸ λοιπὸν καὶ ἀναπαύεσθε. ἀπέχει, ἦλθεν ἡ ὥρα· ἰδοὺ παραδίδοται ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου εἰς τὰς χεῖρας τῶν 42 ἁμαρτωλῶν. ἐγείρεσθε ἄγωμεν· ἰδοὺ ὁ παραδιδούς με 46 ἤγγικε.


Καὶ εὐθέως, ἔτι αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος, παραγίνεται Ιούδας, 47 47 εἷς ὢν τῶν δώδεκα, καὶ μετ ̓ αὐτοῦ ὄχλος πολὺς μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων, παρὰ τῶν ἀρχιερέων καὶ τῶν γραμ44 ματέων καὶ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων. δεδώκει δὲ ὁ παραδιδοὺς 48 αὐτὸν, σύσσημον αὐτοῖς, λέγων, Ὃν ἂν φιλήσω, αὐτός 45 ἐστι· κρατήσατε αὐτὸν, καὶ ἀπαγάγετε ἀσφαλῶς. καὶ 49 47 ἐλθὼν, εὐθέως προσελθὼν αὐτῷ λέγει, Ραββὶ ῥαββί 46 καὶ κατεφίλησεν αὐτόν· οἱ δὲ ἐπέβαλον ἐπ ̓ αὐτὸν τὰς 50 χεῖρας αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐκράτησαν αὐτόν.

47 Εἷς δέ τις τῶν παρεστηκότων σπασάμενος τὴν μάχαι- 51 50 ραν, ἔπαισε τὸν δοῦλον τοῦ ἀρχιερέως, καὶ ἀφεῖλεν αὐτοῦ 48 τὸ ὠτίον. Καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, Ως 55 53 ἐπὶ λῃστὴν ἐξήλθετε μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων συλλαβεῖν 49 με; καθ ̓ ἡμέραν ἤμην πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ διδάσκων, καὶ οὐκ ἐκρατήσατέ με· ἀλλ ̓ ἵνα πληρωθῶσιν αἱ γραφαί. 50,51 Καὶ ἀφέντες αὐτὸν πάντες ἔφυγον. καὶ εἷς τις νεανίσκος

ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ, περιβεβλημένος σινδόνα ἐπὶ γυμνοῦ· καὶ 52 κρατοῦσιν αὐτὸν οἱ νεανίσκοι· ὁ δὲ καταλιπὼν τὴν σινδόνα, γυμνὸς ἔφυγεν ἀπ ̓ αὐτῶν.

53 ¶AND they led Jesus away to the high priest : c Matt. 26.57. and with him were assembled all the chief priests and John 18. 13. 54 the elders and the scribes. And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest and

Καὶ ἀναστὰς ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς εἰς τὸ 61 ὁ μέσον, ἐπηρώτησε τὸν Ἰησοῦν, λέγων, Οὐκ ἀποκρίνῃ 61 οὐδέν; τί οὗτοί σου καταμαρτυροῦσιν ; ὁ δὲ ἐσιώπα, καὶ οὐδὲν ἀπεκρίνατο. πάλιν ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς ἐπηρώτα αὐτὸν, 63 καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ, Σὺ εἶ ὁ Χριστὸς ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ εὐλογητοῦ ; 62 ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν, Ἐγώ εἰμι. καὶ ὄψεσθε τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ 64 ἀνθρώπου καθήμενον ἐκ δεξιῶν τῆς δυνάμεως, καὶ ἐρχό63 μενον μετὰ τῶν νεφελῶν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ. ὁ δὲ ἀρχιερεὺς 65 διαρρήξας τοὺς χιτῶνας αὐτοῦ, λέγει, Τί ἔτι χρείαν ἔχο64 μεν μαρτύρων ; ἠκούσατε τῆς βλασφημίας· τί ὑμῖν φαί-66 νεται ; οἱ δὲ πάντες κατέκριναν αὐτὸν εἶναι ἔνοχον 65 θανάτου. Καὶ ἤρξαντό τινες ἐμπτύειν αὐτῷ, καὶ περι-6η καλύπτειν τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ, καὶ κολαφίζειν αὐτὸν, καὶ λέγειν αὐτῷ, Προφήτευσον. καὶ οἱ ὑπηρέται ῥαπίσμασιν 68 αὐτὸν ἔβαλλον.



Καὶ ὄντος τοῦ Πέτρου ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ κάτω, ἔρχεται μία 69 56 6η τῶν παιδισκῶν τοῦ ἀρχιερέως, καὶ ἰδοῦσα τὸν Πέτρον θερμαινόμενον, ἐμβλέψασα αὐτῷ λέγει, Καὶ σὺ μετὰ τοῦ 68 Ναζαρηνοῦ Ἰησοῦ ἦσθα. ὁ δὲ ἠρνήσατο λέγων, Οὐκ οἶδα, το 57 οὐδὲ ἐπίσταμαι τί σὺ λέγεις. καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἔξω εἰς τὸ προ69 αύλιον· καὶ ἀλέκτωρ ἐφώνησε. καὶ ἡ παιδίσκη ἰδοῦσα αὐτὸν γι 58 πάλιν, ἤρξατο λέγειν τοῖς παρεστηκόσιν, Οτι οὗτος ἐξ το αὐτῶν ἐστιν. ὁ δὲ πάλιν ἠρνεῖτο. καὶ μετὰ μικρὸν πάλιν γε οἱ παρεστῶτες ἔλεγον τῷ Πέτρῳ, ̓Αληθῶς ἐξ αὐτῶν εἶ· 13 59 71 καὶ γὰρ Γαλιλαῖος εἶ, καὶ ἡ λαλιά σου ὁμοιάζει. ὁ δὲ 74 60 ἤρξατο ἀναθεματίζειν καὶ ὀμνύειν, Ὅτι οὐκ οἶδα τὸν ἄν72 θρωπον τοῦτον ὃν λέγετε. καὶ ἐκ δευτέρου ἀλέκτωρ ἐφώνησε. καὶ ἀνεμνήσθη ὁ Πέτρος τοῦ ῥήματος οὗ εἶπεν αὐτῷ 15

And the chief priests and all the council sought d Matt. 26.59. for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and 56 found none. For many bare false witness against him, 57 but their witness agreed not together. And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, say

62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of Matt. 24. 30. man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming Luke 22. 69. 63 in the clouds of heaven. Then the high priest rent

his clothes, and saith, What need we any further wit64 nesses? Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of 65 death. And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

¶kAnd as Peter was beneath in the palace, there k Matt. 26.58, 67 cometh one of the maids of the high priest: and when 55. John 18. she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth. 68 But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch ; 69 and the cock crew. 1And a maid saw him again, and 1 Matt. 26.71. began to say to them that stood by, This is one of John 18. 25. 70 them. And he denied it again. m And a little after, m Mat. 26.73. they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou John 18. 26. art one of them: "for thou art a Galilæan, and thy n Acts 2. 7. 71 speech agreeth thereto.
